Frolic Show Bar

The Frolic Show Bar, a Black and Tan establishment located in Sugar Hill at 4450 John R, was built in 1946 at a cost of $60,000 by Jewish owners Hymie and Bennie Gastman, who dubbed it the 'Showplace of Detroit.' The bar featured performances by renowned artists such as Dinah Washington and Louis Armstrong, alongside numerous local acts.
